Our Role

We were appointed as Project Management Adviser to Kent County Council, supporting the project throughout design development and delivery. Our role focused on cost control, programme management, coordination of stakeholder and funder requirements, securing statutory approvals and ensuring delivery aligned with the client’s aspirations. The project was delivered using a traditional procurement route.

Project Details:

A prestigious and award-winning new build art gallery enhancing Margate’s prospects for overall regeneration. The works were located on the lower seafront level with restricted access and numerous adjacent properties and concerns. The numerous stakeholder requirements and deliverables had to be managed successfully to ensure a compliant building was delivered.

CM were appointed as project management advisors to Kent County Council on the recommendation of South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) and assisted throughout the design development and delivery of the new scheme to ensure that costs were controlled, the funders requirements were met, statutory approvals secured and the client’s aspirations for the building delivered.

CM worked closely with the architects and design team to make sure that the designs not only met the client’s briefs but also those of the funders and all within the set budget. CM ensured that the works progressed throughout the delivery stage and produced reports for the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council England and South East England Development Agency, as required and to secure funding. CM also managed the delivery of the project working alongside Kent County Council.
