Project Overview
Description
Legacy project: delivered as part of our long-standing arts & heritage portfolio. A prestigious and award-winning new build art gallery aimed at enhancing Margate’s prospects for overall regeneration. The works were located on the lower seafront level with restricted access and numerous adjacent properties and concerns. The numerous stakeholder requirements and deliverables had to be managed successfully to ensure a compliant building was delivered.
Our role
We were appointed as project management advisors to Kent County Council on the recommendation of South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) and assisted throughout design development and delivery. Our role focused on cost control, programme management, coordination of stakeholder and funder requirements, securing statutory approvals and ensuring delivery aligned with client aspirations. We worked closely with the local authority, architects and design team to make sure designs not only met the client's brief but also those of the funders and all within the set budget. We ensured works progressed throughout the delivery stage, producing progress reports for NLHF, Arts Council England and SEEDA.
