Delivering Excellence Across Arts, Heritage, and Estate Management

At Cragg Management, we provide comprehensive project management solutions designed to preserve history, sustain legacies, and create enduring value. Our services encompass every stage of a project's lifecycle, from initial planning to final delivery, ensuring exceptional results tailored to our clients' needs.

Project management

Cragg Management has built its reputation through the successful delivery of complex arts and heritage projects across the UK. We understand the unique challenges of working with historic buildings and cultural organisations — from managing sensitive restoration works to creating new visitor and exhibition spaces. Our role is to coordinate all elements of the project, balancing design ambition with cost, programme, and conservation priorities. We work closely with funders, architects, and local authorities to ensure each project enhances its cultural and community value while meeting modern operational needs. Whether adapting a listed museum or re-imagining a public gallery, our aim is to deliver outcomes that respect the past and serve the future.

Contract Administration

Acting as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent, Cragg Management safeguards our clients’ interests throughout the construction process. We are experienced in JCT and NEC contracts and apply a clear, methodical approach to managing change, progress, and compliance. Our focus is always on maintaining fair, transparent relationships between client and contractor, while ensuring design intent and budget are protected. We issue instructions, assess variations, certify payments, and monitor performance with precision and professionalism. Across heritage and public-sector projects alike, we combine procedural accuracy with pragmatic problem-solving — keeping projects compliant, collaborative, and on course for successful completion.

Cost control

Our estate management service helps clients maintain, improve, and plan for the long-term care of their property portfolios. We work with estate owners, trusts, and public bodies to develop asset strategies that balance heritage protection with modern functionality and environmental performance. Our advice covers maintenance planning, conservation management, and multi-phase capital programmes — supported by clear reporting and cost control. By combining technical expertise with practical understanding of estate operations, we enable informed decision-making and sustainable stewardship. Our work ensures that each estate remains resilient, efficient, and ready for the next generation of use.

Funding and Feasibility

Before any project begins, clarity of purpose and funding strategy are essential. We support clients at the earliest stages to shape viable, fundable projects and secure the investment needed for delivery. Our experience spans the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council England, and a range of local authority and Levelling Up programmes. We prepare feasibility studies, option appraisals, and delivery plans that align with funder objectives and demonstrate long-term value. By combining analytical rigour with creative insight, we help clients move confidently from concept to construction — building strong cases for support and ensuring that every project begins with the right foundations.

With over three decades of experience, Cragg Management is dedicated to transforming vision into reality while preserving the integrity and value of every project we undertake.
