Description
Delivery of a new-build, three-storey art gallery providing permanent and temporary exhibition spaces, archives, conference and community facilities, constructed on a constrained site adjacent to a Grade I listed theatre and a nationally significant sporting venue.
Our role
We were appointed as Project Manager and Contract Administrator, working directly for Eastbourne Borough Council. Our services included development of the client brief, preparation and submission of the National Lottery Heritage Fund Round Two bid, and ongoing cost and progress reporting to funders throughout the project. The scheme was delivered using a traditional procurement route.
Scope and Outcomes
Key Outcomes: - Successful delivery of a major new cultural building within a constrained operational site. - High-quality contemporary gallery spaces supporting exhibitions, learning and community use. - Effective coordination alongside live theatre and international sporting events. - Successful management of funder requirements and reporting. - Strengthened cultural infrastructure within Eastbourne.
