Our Role

Appointed as Project Manager, we led the delivery of the restoration works and prepared the Activity Statement in support of National Lottery Heritage Fund funding. The project was procured using a traditional procurement route.

Project Details:

The 600-strong polish community congregation took over the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Reading 30 years ago when it was due for demolition. Recent restoration work has been carried out on the 150-year-old building and the National Lottery Heritage Fund awarded a Places of Worship grant to aid further work to the nave and chancel.

The Activity Statement looked at how the existing congregation could welcome visitors from other faiths and nationalities into the Church, through public events, volunteering and apprenticeships.

Funding:

  • The National Lottery Heritage Fund

  • Garfield Weston

  • Royal County of Berkshire Churches Trust

  • National Churches Trust
