Project Details:
The Whitworth Art Gallery is part of the University of Manchester and is home to some of the UK's finest collections of art and design, with the Whitworth's collections being designated as of outstanding national importance. The project provided a high profile new build extension and internal refurbishment of the Grade II listed gallery.CM have overseen the delivery of this high quality £15m extension to the gallery, from briefing until completion. CM were appointed after the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) Round 2 application, we assisted with the securing of the necessary additional partnership funding, discharge of all funding obligations, preparation of all NLHF progress reports and drawdowns and ongoing liaison with the NLHF monitor and case officer. We were responsible for the management of all elements of the project delivery including the client’s direct works and all project costs. CM were also Contract Administrator for part of the project ensuring that works were progressed as required.
