Project Details:
The project demolished the original Tara Theatre, retained the original facade and created a new purpose-built theatre.
The Tara Studio is an outstanding, new build, 100-seat, producing theatre with rehearsal and workshop facilities to create a space which houses the creative meeting of cultures. The project also created gallery, retail, catering and office spaces.
The project had extensive legal agreement requirements including Network Rail approvals and 11 party wall agreements.
CM's role was of Project Manager, Employers Agent and Quantity Surveyor. We worked closely with the Employer throughout to ensure that the works were completed on time and budget. CM secured the Arts Council England round 2 award and developed and implemented a robust and successful fundraising strategy.
The project has a high level of sustainability, achieving a BREEAM Very Good rating and the incorporation of extensive but focused environmental improvements including photovoltaic cells, rainwater harvesting and green roofs.
