Project Details:
The 600-strong polish community congregation took over the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Reading 30 years ago when it was due for demolition. Recent restoration work has been carried out on the 150-year-old building and the National Lottery Heritage Fund awarded a Places of Worship grant to aid further work to the nave and chancel. The Activity Statement looked at how the existing congregation could welcome visitors from other faiths and nationalities into the Church, through public events, volunteering and apprenticeships.
