Project Details:
A part new build part renovation museum of contemporary design linked to the existing historical museum and amalgamating three local museums, creating 3 new galleries, education space and catering/ retail facilities. The works included the restoration/refurbishment of the existing museum.
Following the construction phase the exhibition fit out contractor went into administration leaving the exhibition fit out only partly commenced. Swift action was required from CM to appoint a new exhibition designer to the satisfaction of the Society of Bexhill Museums and Rother District Council whilst also following the HLF guidelines. Despite this set back the project was delivered on budget and received Highly Commended Award in the Project on a Limited Budget category from the Museums and Heritage Association.
